ITINERARY
📍Day 1 – Cusco – Tambomachay – Pukamarca – Huchuy Qosqo
🚐 Pickup in Cusco
We begin our adventure early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We leave the imperial city behind to enter the archaeological site of Tambomachay, known as the Baths of the Inca, where our hike along the paths of the ancient Tahuantinsuyu will begin.
🥣 Breakfast in Tambomachay and start of the trek
We will enjoy a boxed lunch while the guide shares the history and rituals of water in Inca culture. Then, we begin the hike through high Andean landscapes, sacred hills, and grazing llamas, surrounded by an ancient silence.
🏔️ Ascent to the Sicllaccasa Pass
After a three-hour climb, we will reach the Sicllaccasa Pass (4,200 m above sea level), from where we will contemplate panoramic views of the Cusco Valley and the Verónica, Sawasiray, and Pitusiray snow-capped mountains. This spot is ideal for photos and a spiritual connection with the Apus.
🌾 Descent to the community of Pukamarca
We descend gently to the Andean community of Pukamarca, where a traditional lunch prepared with local products awaits us. Here you can spend time with peasant families and learn more about their customs and handicrafts.
🌿 Hike through the León Punku Canyon
We continue the trek through the mystical León Punku Canyon, an Inca trail surrounded by stone bridges, water channels, and natural formations. This section is magical and silent, a natural corridor where history and energy are felt at every step.
🏕️ Arrival in Huchuy Qosqo and Camp
As we leave the canyon, the citadel of Huchuy Qosqo (3,600 m above sea level) appears majestic before us. It was built by the Inca Wiracocha and offers spectacular views of the Sacred Valley. We will set up camp and have the afternoon free to rest or explore the surroundings.

🥾 Descent to Lamay (2–3 hours)
We begin the descent to the picturesque village of Lamay, crossing ancient Inca trails, gorges, and queuña forests. This hike is peaceful and perfect for observing the high Andean flora.
🍽️ Transfer and lunch in Ollantaytambo
Our private transportation will take us from Lamay to Ollantaytambo, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you can stroll through the Inca stone streets before continuing to Aguas Calientes.
🚆 Tourist train ride to Aguas Calientes
We board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). The 1 hour 45 minute journey offers spectacular scenery: the Urubamba River, jungle canyons, and the transition from the Andes to the jungle edge.
🏨 Arrival in Aguas Calientes and rest
Upon arrival, a representative will greet you and take you to your reserved hotel. You will have the afternoon free to rest, visit the hot springs, or have dinner. In the evening, your guide will provide a briefing for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
